Northridge came first, and Eastridge, Southridge, Westridge, and BackCountry followed over the next two decades. Because whole neighborhoods were built within a few years of each other, the same equipment tends to wear out on the same streets at the same time.

Many homes also depend on a pressure reducing valve, and when that valve wears out, pressure climbs and stresses every connection in the house. We identify the pipe material and test static pressure whenever a leak or pressure problem brings us out.

How can I tell how old my water heater is?

Check the label on the tank. The manufacture date is usually encoded in the serial number, and the format varies by brand. If the heater is original to a Highlands Ranch house built in the 1990s or 2000s, it is past the typical eight to twelve year service life and worth planning to replace before it fails.

Does my Highlands Ranch home have polybutylene pipe?

Possibly, if it was built in the 1980s or early 1990s. Polybutylene is a flexible gray plastic, often stamped PB, and it may be visible near the water heater, at the main shutoff, or in an unfinished basement ceiling. Many homes have already had it replaced. If yours has not, we can inspect it and explain your options.

Why did my water pressure suddenly get stronger?
